    Early November gives perfect opportunity to see the first snow on lake Baikal. When the lake is still not covered with ice it is a magnificent view of fluffy snow and pointy waves. We are offering you to experience it and take a tour to Ust-Barguzin village.

    Season: November-April
    This trip can be done all year round. It’s a winter version of Ust-Barguzin summer 4 days Active
    Physical rating:
    Light walking and hiking suitable for most fitness levels. Negative temperature is a main challenge, proper clothing is strictly advised. Basic accommodation in hunter’s hut and national park hut.
    Duration: 4 days/3 nights
    Temperature: from 0 to -15 Celsius.
    Usually sunny. Can be both chilly and warm at sunlight.

    Service features:
    Accommodation is all heated and it’s warm. All our cars and vans have heaters and are equipped with winter tires. During our tour you always have opportunity to warm up inside a car or a house.

    Itinerary:

    Day 1. Morning start to lake Baikal. A few stops on the way at Baturinsky female Monastery, Turtle Rock and shamanistic Oboo. Lunch on the way in local cafe at the shore of the lake. There can be stops on demand for picture, we’ll recommend you where the best to stop. By the end of the day the local family at the village will welcome to their home and treat you with home food. And of course you will try a real russian Banya, traditional steam sauna. LD
    Day 2.
    Head into Barguzin valley to see Buryat culture and Barguzin mountain range panorama. Visit Suvo village with it’s great panorama. Drive across 2 mountain ranges to Yanzheema holy Buddhist rock. Stay overnight in Ulyun village (Firewood stove and basic house, sleeping bags and mats are given to you). BLD
    Day 3.
    Start the excursion to Holy Nose peninsula, deep inside the Zabaikalsky National Park. You will drive russia military vans. Our experienced guide or a driver will stop at the most picturesque spots for the best views. Lunch is picnic or on-board. Home cooked dinner. Overnight in National Park. (Firewood stove and basic houses) BLD
    Day 4.
    Breakfast. Drive back to Ulan Ude. On the way stopping for lunch. BL

    What’s important: 3 different overnight places in 3 days, nights 2 and 3 are basic condition (close to camping, but warm).

    An epic trip to the Ice World of lake Baikal is one of the most asked trips. The lake completely freezes only by the end of January. This is when we start having ice experience tours on it, it’s possible to drive on it, to see ice grottos, to have hot springs thermal baths open-air for contrast and everything that you can imagine to do on ice.

    Season: January-March
    Physical rating:
    Light walking suitable for most fitness levels, it can be slippery though. The only challenge can be negative temperatures. mostly we spend indoors or inside vehicles. See the list of “Survival things to take”
    Duration: 4 days/3 nights
    Temperature: from -30 to -10 Celsius.
    Bright sun in a daytime can burn the skin while the cold wind can bite nose sometimes. Nighttime can drop the temperature down to 15 degrees colder than daytime. Although it’s dry cold which is much different from humid.
    Service level: Original.
    Private transfers, english-speaking guide, simple and locally owned accommodation type, full board.
    Service features:
    All our vehicles are equipped with winter tires, have heaters and are soft seaters. The condition of road is reasonably smooth. Only experienced local drivers on specially equipped russian army vans drive on the surface of ice. Accommodation is all heated and it’s warm. During our tour you always have opportunity to warm up inside a car or a house.

    Itinerary “Ice World Eastern Baikal”:

    Day 1. Morning start to lake Baikal. A few stops on the way at Batutinsky female Monastery, Turtle Rock and shamanistic Oboo. Lunch on the way in local cafe at the shore of the lake.     Day 2. Start in the morning to Zabaikalsky National Park. Every year it’s different and our experienced guides and local drivers will take you to the best sights. Drive on ice, visit Ice Grottos, have an open-air bath in thermal water! Lunch-picnic. BLD

    Day 3. Early start to Barguzin valley. Barguzin Valley tour takes the whole day of driving through the beautiful valley of 1000 rivers. A short walk on the streets of a very small and nice village, get a feel of Siberia. Stop at Barguzin town, the first Russian settlement at the lake, reveal story of Jewish people in Siberia. Enjoy a short hike to panoramic spot at the top of Suvo hills. Picnic or local home-cooked food for lunch. Drive back to Ust-Barguzin and overnight there at homestay. BLD

    Day 4. Drive back to Ulan-Ude. BL

    What’s important: Homestay is warm and cozy, western toilet available. Barguzin valley day can be excluded on demand.
